It’s compelling and still accessible in its complexity though rather than being offputting or intimidating. And he looks at the future to see how our selves might be changed by new technology. Chapter 7 “The Ego Trick” alone is deserving of being being read and thought of separately, as an individual thesis. It just examiners various philosophical opinions of personal identity.

The bundle theory takes away cosmic consciousness and firmly puts that consciousness is all and ever changing which dissolves at the time of death but somehow remains in others memory. For now, however, what is significant is simply that people almost invariably believe that there is such an essence, a core of self that holds steady through life.
